Perhaps you recall us talking occasionally about the "Friday Night Scrapping" that's done up here with Grandma and The Aunts each week (see June 25, 2010 "What Do You Do On Friday Night?"). Near the end of summer, after deciding our vacations were missing key pictures, from previously scanned slides, we took two weeks (or was it three?) and dusted off the projector and loaded up trays and reviewed all the slides we could find that Mom/Grandma/Grandma Great (& Pappy) have accumulated over the years. Now that's a trip through time! We've since taken a break from scrapping to pursue another scrapping related task -- scanning all those 35mm slides. Over the past few weeks we keep saying that we oughta call Bob & Debbie and let them join in the fun too! So guess what Christine did last week? Yup, in addition to providing our dinner she sent the email invite out and last Friday night B&D (along with their laptops and a scanner) joined us for our 7pm dinner followed by slide scanning. After all, it would certianly go faster with one more laptop and scanner in play wouldn't it?
We soon discovered Bob had the same problem we did the first week we started scanning...getting the laptop and scanner to talk to each other! While Bob was searching the internet for the scanner Debbie pulled out her laptop to see if she had any better luck. If there had been an official 'race' she would have won, but Bob came in a close second. There was a little sympathy from The Aunt's but mostly we were chuckling because it was deja vu all over again; see, we'd had the same problem our first week (see post dated Oct 11, 2010 "Friday Night Scanner Lights").
In the white dish between the laptop and Janice's big drink is our dessert, a yummy apple crisp. Towards the center you can see Bob's iced up drink AND a few remaining chocolate mint squares...the perfect partner with the Coke Zero seen in the previous picture. Yah, we're human too.
It was quite the team. We are making progress and soon we'll have about 1,500 slides scanned. THEN we can get back to scrapbooking.
Shhhhhh. Don't ask about the boxes and boxes and boxes of 4x6 pictures that were taken when Mom/G/GG got her own camera and Dad/Pappy gave up 35mm slides for printed pictures too.

I still plan on joining you on a Friday night to accomplish some scrapping.
