EEK warning if you don't like arachnids!!!
That would be...Terry Tarantula if our new resident is a boy, or Terri if it's a girl. Quite FRANKenstein-LY I'm not going to stop and ask.
Perfect for this Halloween spooky time of the year don't ya think?
Okay, maybe I made it look like a REALLY BIG tarantula but it's more on the small side. Really.
Here's a better perspective of the basement window well its currently picked as a place to stay.
See it up there in the corner?
Not so big now is it. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
Tarantula's are native critters up here. There are usually a few that would show up each season in the picking lugs the peaches were in. Always a not so nice surprise to a member of the sorting crew. As a teenager I was with a bunch of friends up on the mountain near the old uranium mine (those cement remains up there) when we sat down to take a break...didn't stay long as an army of tarantula's were marching down the hillside -- end of our hiking expedition!
Wikipedia: "Tarantulas are becoming increasingly popular as pets and are readily available in captivity." This one will NOT be a pet.

Last one we caught in Chris' window well, we took down to the Jr. High Science teacher. He appreciated it.
