What we woke up to...
Due to bad weather earlier in the month, the annual Mother's Day dinner was postponed to today with the expectation conditions would be better to enjoy a picnic outside. Oops.
Missed getting a pic of the food setup on the bar before eating, but here's the aftermath:
yum, dessert. Strawberry Pie.
The younger kids greatly enjoyed cookies and Twinkies.
good conversation was enjoyed while food digested.

Jacob was able to join us after he got off work; Marnie and Eli, Mom.
While the women gabbed, Grandpa Bob and little boys watched Chip 'n Dale cartoons. Hayden preferred the "up close and personal" view.
The cartoon chipmunks have always been a favorite of two generations and it looks like we've about converted the third. Hunter here is 'in training' with his grandpa.
Hayden, still glued to the TV.

A short time later the great outdoors beckoned...
and Razors, wagons, hula-hoops, a plastic bowling set and Zim-Zam paddles were creatively put to use. l to r: Cooper, Jocelyn, Hunter

Jocelyn had fun.
"Hole in one!"
Cooper with multiple hula-hoops.
the kids in the background were whacking down the burdock weeds with sticks they found in the wood pile.
Eli
he may not be walking yet, but he's quite mobile on two knees.
kids just having fun while Bob & Jacob did some heavy duty weeding for me. thanks guys.
Reluctantly staying within the limits of brittle Gamble Oak limbs they wanted their picture taken. Too good to pass up.
